Cuenca: First days in photos

We are living right in the city, but it is cleaner, quieter, and feels more relaxed than Quito. Our home is a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom suite. Spacious and comfortable.

Within a few blocks are several panaderias (bakeries with lots of treats to try for 15 to 50 cents each), produce and general grocery shops where we can pick up whatever we want fresh each day, and eateries for almuerzo (these are cheaper here – only $2 or $2.50 for a 3-course lunch).

Rather than write a lot about our first impressions of Cuenca, we are going to show you. Click on an image to see larger versions of the collection.
